WHIPS History

Up to Covid ridden 2020 The Whips have put on two productions a year plus a Panto every other year however these times are uncertain and our 2020 production of ‘Close to the Wind’ by Richard Everett has been postponed three time but was at last performed in October 2021.

Many people have enjoyed their time with the Whips over the years and there is an extensive collection of photographs, programmes and other material which will gradually be added to this archive.

You can download and read a summary history of the first 40 years written by Stephen Turner in its original form in the panel to the right. Also available is a full list of all the Whips productions.

Jack Griffith has been busily collating photographs, posters and programmes for all the Whips productions. Where available Jack has assembled a summary for each production from our most recent (Close to the Wind Oct 2021) back as far as The Happiest Days of Your Life from 1951. Our thanks go to Jack for assembling this detailed record of The Whips productions and to the many members who have contributed material. Hopefully you will have a great deal of fun reviewing the material, especially for those shows which you may have participated in.

Progressively the material will added below but as a start you can review our productions by year by clicking on the link below.
